For virgin burners, you should know that dues are just one part of the theme camp experience. Radical Self-Reliance and Communal Effort are two of the 10 Principles of Burning Man. You don't just pay to go to the burn and get 100% taken care of. A few camps do it, but they typically ask for $500-$1000+.. It’s called “turnkey,” they typically hire staff, and it tends to stratify the population of Black Rock City by socioeconomic class more than it already is.
